Basic Bourbon Sauce
My Good Buddy, Jack Daniels
A traditional spice blend of the Jamaican Islands, Jerk rub is both hot and sweetly citrusy at the same time. This rub is great for chicken or turkey.
Basic Bourbon Barbeque Sauce
Ingredients (makes 1.5 Cups)
3 TBSP - Butter (not margarine!)
3 TBSP - Good Olive oil
1 Cup - Red Onion minced fine
1/2 Cup - Bourboun (Jack Daniels is preferred, Single-Barrel if you have it)
3/4 Cup - Ketchup
1/2 Cup - Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 Cup - Orange juice
1/2 Cup - Syrup
1/4 Cup - Dark molasses, unsulphured
2 TBSP - Worcestershire sauce
1/2 TSP - Black Pepper (coarse)
1/2 TSP - Kosher salt
Heat saucepan and add Butter and Olive Oil.
When hot, sautee the Onions for about five minutes.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low, covered for 30 minutes.
